Here at 'Kazaura' the health and happiness of our dogs and puppies is our priority, therefore we only breed from
Kennel Club registered dogs that are in excellent health, have fabulous temperaments, and low hip scores.
All our breeding adults are health tested above and beyond the Kennel Club requirements, as is any stud dog we use, and all certificates are available for you to see.
Our litters are well planned and we aim to breed as close to the 'breed standard' as we can, so that we continue to improve the breed producing puppies of excellent health, temperment and type.
Our puppies are whelped and reared in our family home where they grow accustomed to all the hustle and bustle of family life. They are extensively socialised with adults, children, cats and our other dogs, thus ensuring your puppy is confident and well prepared for your home and family life.
Once you have your puppy, it becomes your job to educate and socialise him.
We are happy to offer advice on this and always recommend new owners enrol in puppy socialisation/ training classes, where the emphasis is on a praise and reward basis. Socialisation is vitally important and you should start classes as soon as your puppy has been fully vaccinated. It is wise to book early as most clubs may have a waiting list for puppy classes.
Prior to leaving for their new homes our puppies will be Kennel Club Registered (endorsed), microchipped,
vet checked, wormed and insured.
The breeding endorsement may be lifted after the appropriate health tests have been done with satisfactory results.
It is there for the welfare of our breed and will hopefully discourage indiscriminent breeding.
The export endorsement may be lifted dependent upon circumstances,
please contact us if you wish to export one of our puppies.
Advice will be freely given throughout the dogs life and we do like to stay in touch with owners for pictures and updates on our puppies. We also guarantee to take back any dog we have sold, at any age, or to help rehome, should the owners feel they can no longer keep the dog. We do this to ensure no Kazaura GSD ends up in rescue.
A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your puppy.
Click the links below for information.
All our puppy registrations have the following endorsements -
'R' - 'Progeny not eligible for registration.'
(The dog is restricted from having any progeny registered with the Kennel Club)
The other endorsement is -
'X' - 'Not eligible for export pedigree.'
The cute fluffy puppy will very quickly grow into a large strong dog, making lots of mess and requiring lots of time, attention and training from you. Puppies will nip and scratch you, can your family cope with this and the other demands of a young puppy
or will an older puppy or adult suit your lifestyle better?
Ask yourselves these questions and do some research on the breed before you get a puppy. It's not fair on them or you
if you suddenly find yourself with a dog that doesn't fit your lifestyle or budget, or is too active for your home!
Although most breeders take the time and effort required to ensure their breeding dogs and puppies are healthy, a dogs health is not something that can be 100% guaranteed and potential owners should be aware of the health problems that can and do occurr in the breed. Click on the links below for infomation on some of the health issues that can affect the GSD.
Panosteitis, Canine Degenerative Myelopathy (DM), Hip Dysplasia, Elbow Dysplasia, Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI), Anal Furunculosis, Cancer Gastric Torsion (Bloat) Epilepsy
Please do not let the above information scare you away from GSD's. It's there to encourage you to find a reputable breeder who is knowledgeable about these conditions and does their best to keep their breeding program free of them. A responsible breeder will welcome any questions regarding the health of their breeding dogs/puppies and any of the above conditions, so please don't be afraid to ask about them.
If you would like more information on our litters, please don't hesitate to contact us via telephone or e-mail
and we will do our best to help you.
A Breeder (with a Capital "B") is one who thirsts for knowledge & never really knows it all, one who wrestles with decisions of conscience, convince, and commitment.
A Breeder is one who sacrifices personal interests, finances, time, fancy furniture, and deep pile carpeting! She gives up the dream of long luxurious cruises in favor of turning that all important show into this years "vacation"
The Breeder goes without sleep (but never without coffee/cola!) in hours spent planning a breeding or watching anxiously over the birth process, and afterwards, over every little sneeze, wiggle or cry.
The Breeder skips dinner parties because that litter is due or the babies have to be fed at eight. She disregards birth fluids and puts mouth to mouth to save a gasping newborn, literally blowing life into a tiny, helpless creature that may be the culmination of a lifetime of dreams.
A Breeder's lap is a marvelous place where generations of proud and noble champions once snoozed.
A Breeders hands are strong and firm and often soiled, but ever so gentle and sensitive to the thrusts of a puppy's wet nose.
A Breeders back and knees are usually arthritic from stooping, bending, and sitting in the birthing box, but are strong enough to enable the breeder to show the next choice pup to a championship.
A Breeders shoulders are stooped and often heaped with abuse from competitors, but they're wide enough to support the weight of a thousand defeats and frustrations.
A Breeders arms are always able to wield a mop, support an arm full of puppies, lend a helping hand to a newcomer.
A Breeders ears are wondrous things, sometimes red (from being talked about) or strangely shaped (from being pressed against a phone receiver), Often deaf to criticism, yet always fine-tuned to the whimper of a sick puppy.
A Breeders eyes are blurred from pedigree research and sometimes blind to her own dog's faults, but they are ever so keen to competition's faults and are always searching for the perfect specimen.
A Breeders brain is foggy on faces, but it can recall pedigrees faster than an IBM Computer. It's so full of knowledge that sometimes it blows a fuse; It catalogues thousands of good boning, fine ears, and perfect heads.......And buries it in the soul, the failures and the ones that didn't turn out.
The Breeders heart is often broken, but it beats strongly with hope everlasting........And it's always in the right place!
OH, YES, THERE ARE BREEDERS, AND THERE ARE
BREEDERS!!!
