After researching the raw diet on the internet, reading books and seeking advice from other raw feeders, I began feeding raw food to my dogs. The results spoke for themselves, my dogs were healthy, with improved coat condition, cleaner teeth, smaller solid stools and whats more they loved their new diet and always clear their bowls.
All our dogs and puppies enjoy a variety of the following raw foods, along side a high quality fish based complete
food - Fish4Dogs and Fish4Dogs Salmon Mousse. Visit their website for details - fish4dogs.com
RAW CHICKEN - this forms the main part of their diet, it is fed in the following forms -
Whole chickens/Wings/Legs/Thighs/Drumsticks/Carcasses/Necks/Backs/Heart/Liver
and Minced chicken (preferably containing the bone).
RAW TURKEY - Necks/Wings/Drumsticks/Mince containing the bone.
RAW LAMB - Rib bones, Legs/Chops/Breast/Liver/Heart/Minced lamb containing the bone.
RAW BEEF - Ribs /Mince containing the bone,
RAW BEEF BONES- (these can be given straight from the freezer)
RAW TRIPE - Whole/Chunks or Minced
RAW LIVER & KIDNEY (in small quantities)
RAW PORK - Trotters/Legs/Chops/Mince
RAW RABBIT - Whole/Mince
RAW VEAL - Mince
RAW FISH - Portions
TINNED - Tuna, Pilchards, Sardines and mackeral, in oil or tomato sauce.
RAW EGGS - only 1 or 2 fed once a week including the shells.
(Too many egg whites can cause a biotin deficiency, so if feeding more eggs, give only the yolk).
Cottage cheese, Natural yoghurt, Raw fruit & veg (pulped).
When feeding any of these foods, I usually mix it with their minced meat and a handful of wholemeal mixer biscuit.
ALL red meat and bones should be frozen for 24 hours prior to feeding, as this kills any parasites which could be present.
